2nd Annual SBRGA Pig Roast

We'll have a 70 lb. pig, multiple sides, soft drinks and desserts.
Join us for this feast on Thursday, May 30th. It officially begins at 6pm but come anytime as we'll be there all day roasting the pig and getting everything ready. Any help you'd like to provide will be appreciated. We expect to serve food beginning around 6:30.
Participation fee: $10. per person
Pre-registration will be required. Click here to fill out the registration form or sign-up in the Trap Shack during any public shooting times.
Trap shooting will be available until 8pm for those that are interested. The price is $4.00 per round plus you'll need to bring your own ammo. We'll have a shotgun or two to loan those without. Each round requires a box of 25 shells (12 gauge, #8 shot, 1 to 1-1/18 oz., 2-3/4 dram).
This event is open to all members and their guests.
Help Send local Children to Camp this Summer
Our spring raffle profits go to sending local children to the Conservation Camp at Bryant Pond and to aid the general fund of the SBRGA. All members should have received a packet of 6 tickets in the mail. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Please sell these or buy them yourself and remit the stubs and proceeds before the drawing which will be held 4PM, June 30th, 2012 at the South Berwick Strawberry Festival.
The grand prize is a 15 Ft Pelican canoe with paddles. Other prizes include 100 gallons of heating oil, a lobster dinner for 4 and a $100 gift card from the Kittery Trading Post.
If you need more tickets to sell, please come by the club during any open trap session. Someone will be able to help you there.

This class is open to everyone. Attendees under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
This is a home firearm safety course, taught by an NRA Certified Instructor. The goal of this course is for students to acquire the skills, knowledge and attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of guns in the home.
In this 4 hour course, basic safety guidelines will be taught. Students will learn to identify various types of firearms and actions and learn how to safely unload them. There will also be segments on safe storage, ammunition and gun cleaning. An NRA Certificate of Completion will be awarded after the successful completion of this class. This certificate meets the training requirements necessary for a Maine or Massachusetts concealed carry permit.
Price is $50 per student. Contact Lois with questions or fill out the pre-registration form online to sign up. Class size limited to 16.

The South Berwick Rod and Gun Association will host a Women's Introduction to the Shooting Sports on Sunday, August 4th from 8am to 2pm. Shooters will be introduced to pistol, rifle and shotgun shooting. No experience is necessary. Participation fee is $25 and lunch is included. Email Genie for additional information or to reserve a space.
We have one remaining Hunter Safety class scheduled for 2013. The class consists of two sessions, both of which must be attended to receive your certificate. Please note, the minimum age for attendees is 10 years old. A $5.00 donation is requested to cover costs.
Class dates:
Tues, Sept. 10th from 6 - 9pm and Sun, Sept. 22nd from 8am - 4pm.

The Traphouse Chicken BBQ - 9/20/12
It's over. We pulled off another fun and successful event. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a success. Sandy for her work all day long, Rich for help in grilling, Genie, Gina and Barry for their homemade desserts, Pattie and Gina (again) for their side dishes. Plus all the afternoon guys who got all the chairs and tables and Charlie for building and loaning us that great big grill. Thank to everyone else who helped break it all down and cleaned up when we were done. Thank you all - we had a great time. (L & L)
The Women's Introduction to the Shooting Sports held on Sunday, August 19th was a great success! After registration, there was classroom training and then on to the ranges. Twenty-three women who had never before handled any firearms shot pistols, rifles and shotguns. Everyone had a great time! Thanks to Genie Jennings for organizing this excellent event. 2012 Barbecue & Lobster Dinner
The SBRGA held a barbecue and lobster dinner outdoors at the new Trap field house on Thursday, June 28th. The dinner included lobster, hot dogs, hamburgers/cheeseburgers, kielbasa sausage, corn on the cob, coleslaw, rolls and soda. No one went home hungry!
The event was a great success!
1st Annual SBRGA Top Gun Shoot
The 1st annual archery and 3 gun competition - .22 rifles at 50 and 100 yards, 9mm handgun in an abbreviated IDPA course, plus 12 ga. shotgun - took place May 19th, 2012. All participants had a great time.
